Børnefolkemødet, or the Children’s Citizen Meeting, is an annual event held in Herning, Denmark, that focuses on engaging children in democracy and empowering them to make a positive impact on their communities. The event is organized by Herning Library and the City of Herning’s Cultural Department, and it aims to give children a platform to express their opinions and ideas on various societal issues, based on the UNs 17 visions for the future.
The event featured various workshops, performances, and activities that encouraged children to think critically about environmental issues and develop their own solutions. There are also debates on topics such as equality, inclusion, and democracy, where children and young people can have the opportunity to express their opinions and learn about different perspectives on these issues.
