Jaśmina Wójcik is a Polish visual artist and social activist who creates videos, paintings, public space projects and interactive installations. She highlights the problems of people on the margins of society, with whom she actively and sensitively collaborates (with an emphasis on the elderly, children and young people), and touches upon important social issues, with an awareness of social responsibility for the lives of those in need of help. For several years she has been dedicated to empathetic education by developing original techniques for creating children’s art. She gives children space and subjectivity, treating them as co-creators and inviting them to dialogue. Her film, based on Janusz Korczak’s novel King Matt the First, is made in collaboration with children and is based on the principles of grassroots education.
