Klima for børn (translates to Climate for kids) is a podcast and Instagram page where 9-year-old Lulu and 12-year-old Max explore the issues of climate change, by and for children. At first, Lulu and Max don’t know much about the climate, and what is happening to the earth, but they are curious and want to know more. Lulu and Max go to climate protests, recycle bottles, thrift clothing, eat bugs, and fish trash out of the ocean, all to learn more about climate change and what actions we can take to change the current projections. They interview peers, older kids, and adults to answer their burning questions about the earth and climate. The podcast explores all of this from the children’s perspective, with lots of room for curiosity and questions.
The podcast encourages children to learn more and participate in small and big ways. Small ways like collecting plastic bottles, eating vegetarian once a week, and biking, or in big ways like protesting, taking political action, and demanding change from those in power. It is an inspiring initiative from the generation that is really starting to feel the effects of climate change, but calls for hope and action, not fear.
