Kulturmødet is an annual cultural gathering which takes place on the island of Mors over a 48 hour period in August every year. During this period a huge number of cultural events, talks, performances and debates take place in the small town of Nykøbing Mors, most of which are free or very cheap to attend.

Kulturmødet is intended both as a forum for cultural exchange for people within the cultural field, but also as an annual smorgasbord of culture for locals, who may not have easy access to culture during the year. All the local schools, kindergartens and further educational institutions are invited to take part in the activities that are available over the 48 hours. By locating this festival in one of the least accessible parts of Denmark, the festival has both revitalised the local area as well as fostered awareness among the cultural elite of the challenges that are associated with living outside big cities.
